Rwandan Popular dancer Titi Brown testified hard life he passed through in prison, Dancer ISHIMWE Thierry known as Titi Brown as his stage name have said hard life he passed through in prison of Mageragere.

Titi Brown was arrested in 2021 and charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl, allegedly on August 14, 2021, Titi Brown was sentenced to 30 days of probation, but he immediately appealed on Friday of November 10th, 2023, The Nyarugenge High Court acquited him,

In an interview with Rwandan popular YouTube Channel known to host difference Rwandan superstars called ISIMBI TV, This Dancer said that the first day he was taken to Mageragere he did not realize it and it was hard time to him. He said, “I didn’t understand, I think people know about the RCS car we were traveling in, I went from Kicukiro Station to Mageragere and I am improving my body.

He said how the first day how inmates welcomed him, because there is TV and Radio so they have already knew that Titi Brown is on his way coming to prison, They asked him to dance for them as he use to dance in popular videos for Rwandan super stars like Bruce Melody and Chris Eazy songs

He said, “Are you Titi Brown? Because there are people who listen to the radio and watch the TV, these are the things that are allowed, but the phones are not allowed or anything related to internet. , you feel you’re seeing people wearing roses as a scary thing, I danced to them really.”

He said how it was difficult to accept himself that he is going to spend time there, it was so scary to him because it was hard.

He said, “I was the one who did everything for my family, my brothers were studying because of me, I said: God, why me? After you take my mother away from me, is my life going to end like this? I reminded people that I have been praying for me for 25 years, they did not cut you, but the trauma you face kills you mentally.”

He continue testifying how his first night he never selpt He said, “My first night I didn’t sleep, I cried in the couvre-lit, then I prayed to God and said, God, if this is how you want it, give me the strength to accept these times I’m going through.”

He said that the most difficult thing for him is the food in the prison, which is corn because his stomach is different, it also made him very sick, but he is very grateful to the people who are very close to him, especially a girl named Chance who lives in the United States of America, who sent him 50 thousand Rwandan Francs each month.

He came to accept himself and then started teaching the children who were imprisoned there to dance, which is a project he has to help children who have left prison to teach them to dance so that they can find something that makes them busy. he remembered that he would be at work.

Titi brown said that the two years he spent in the prison it helped him to spend some time with God, what helped him is a pastor called Morodekayo who lives there who told him that for him he won’t prophecy but if he dreams the dream come true,

he told him that he dream about him in the Court and that he was released and that when he is released is when that’s when he will see the reason of why he spent that time there, he firstly thought that that person was trying to play a jock on him but then others told him that if he has told you that you need to pray and it becomes true because what he says is always true.

He said that he had also a time to discuss with Edouard Bamporiki who is being taken care of at mageregere that also what he taught him that touched his heart is the true identity of Rwandan, That onother thing he taught me is what to be a true Rwandan mean, that you can’t really love the country if you don’t know it,

it is impossible we talked and he told me the way I have to pass,what iam doing is from him that I got an idea for that project of teaching those kids from the prison how to dance ,so in few words I can say that he really showed me the way,he gave me the good example and I will follow it”.
