While Rwandans have been preparing themselves and were curious about the actual day of the presidential election to vote for their chosen candidate, these dates were announced at the same time as the parliamentary Elections.
The day of the election of the President of the Republic and of the 53 Deputies who are elected from the list of names and names, of candidates presented by political groups or individual campaigns, is July 15, 2024.
This was published in the Presidential Order n° 077/01 of 11/12/2023 regarding the elections of the President of the Republic and of the Deputies, For Rwandans voting outside of Rwanda, the day of those elections will be on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
In Article 3 of this law, it is stated that the day of the election of the Deputies elected by the special bodies, will be the date of July 16, 2024, which is the day of the election of the 24 women Deputies elected by the special bodies, according to the institutions of the laws of the country, that of two Deputies elected by the National Council of Youth, and that of one Deputy elected by the National Council of People with Disabilities.
While In the fourth article, it is mentioned the time of the start and end of the campaign, that the campaign of the candidates in the election of the President of the Republic and in the election of the Deputies, will start on June 22, 2024, where the campaign takes place.
For the candidates for the President of the Republic and for the 53 Deputies elected from the short list of candidates provided by the political parties and for the candidates who campaign individually, the campaign is concluded as follows :
On July 12, 2024, where the campaign takes place outside of Rwanda, on July 13, 2024, within the country, for candidates who are elected to the Deputies and special bodies, the campaign will end on July 13, 2024. And now people will be waiting for the Results to be announced and know who won the Elections as the President of the Republic of Rwanda.
