Internet is not safe place to trust, compared to male girls are facing many problems on internet related to sexual violence and being scam by scammers, more comments about their appearance and behavieour.
Women are among the people that are cheated faster than men because men have been through many struggles that made them be strong and not trusting too faster, When it comes to internet where you can meet with people you don’t know but you just trust and start making friends with them. You have to be careful!
In Rwanda, we have heard stories of women who have been promised jobs in foreign countries like Arab countries but it never happened as they have been promised, some of them in few years reaching there them began complaining that they were used as sexy machine.
Generally, females use social networking sites to make connections and stay in touch with family or friends. Men, by contrast, use social media to gather the information they need to build influence. Social media helps them perform research, gather relevant contacts and ultimately increase their status.
Online violence now a days has became far to common experience but women suffer most, if you meet with someone on social media you have first to check her/his profile before accept him/her and you must ask them to introduce themselves to you and you start chatting with someone you know and also don’t forget to ask them why they choose to add you as friend.
And If you start to see that she/he is a scammer or there are many things she/he tells you that are of no use to you, you should look at how to block her/him, because if you continue to give her/him your time, you will trust her/him and yet trusting her/him has no other purpose than to confuse you and deceive you.
