The director of the most favorite television station in Rwanda is arrested

The police announced that Uwera Pacifique Ahmed, who is currently the Director of BTN TV (Best Television Network TV), is being held in Nyarugenge prison in Mageragere for the crime of issuing bad checks, among other crimes he was convicted by the court.

RIB had recently announced that this manager was arrested on 1st March, 2024 for allegedly issuing bad checks totaling Frw 11,974,072.

He is said to have committed this crime on different occasions, which happened when he bought different equipment from different people but gave them bad checks as confirmed by RIB.

Among these devices are high definition televisions.
Before these charges were filed, RIB Spokesman Dr. Thierry B. Munangira had recently told the media that Ahmed was prosecuted for another crime of issuing bad checks, he was convicted by the court and sentenced to one year in prison.

At that time, on July 21, 2023, the court fined him Frw 8,556,044.

The law states that when a judgment is passed it becomes a law and therefore what has been decided must be carried out.

RIB spokesperson said that this is the reason why Ahmed was arrested and sent to Nyarugenge prison in Mageragere sector.
