This is after the M23 unit announced that it is now in control of the Goma-Sake-Minova-Bukavu highway.
The M23 city is located on Lake Kivu, more than 90% of the goods that enter the city come from the Rutshuru and Masisi areas that enter the four main roads.

Norbert Nangaa, the head of the AFC union, where M23 is based, appeared on the video and said that the M23 faction has now captured Shasha and that they are now in control of Sake.
The first three roads to Goma city are now controlled by the M23 and are now impassable for people entering and leaving Goma.
Some of the newspapers in the DRC on Monday reported that the government forces occupied the Cantre of Shasha, but the government did not confirm the information.
The M23 group announced that the closure of these roads aims to prevent the delivery of military equipment to the government forces in Bukavu.
Residents say that the only road that was left for goods going to Goma city is the Goma-Sake-Shasha-Minova-Bukavu road.
A resident of Mugunga area named Emile Bolingo told the BBC thanks to this story that they are very scared because they may have a problem of hunger because all the food came from the areas closed by the M23.
Another named Patrick Kalambe who lives in Goma said that since they heard that the M23 had closed the Sake-Minova road, they were afraid because it was the only commercial route left.
The two remaining routes to the city of Goma are the route into Rwanda and the Lake Kivu route that uses boats and the Goma airport.
