Three soldiers from the Democratic Republic of Congo crossed the border into Rwanda, two of them were arrested by the security forces while their comrade who had a gun was shot dead while trying to fight with a gun.
This happened in the early hours of Tuesday, January 16, 2024 near the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo when these soldiers were seen in the Byahi cell in the Rubavu sector.
The soldiers on the asphalt road at the lights were then stopped by patrols and ended up being chased and scattered.
After they dispersed, two people were arrested by the security forces, one was arrested in Rurembo village in Byahi ward and the other in Isangano village in Rukoko ward.
Their friend who had a gun was shot in Gafuku village in Gikombe cell in Rubavu sector when he tried to fight the security forces.
The information from the place where they were arrested was that it was evident that they were drunk because they came and behaved like they were in their country and left without any hesitation.
So far, the authorities have not announced anything about the incident, only the information says that there will be an announcement while the organization (EJVM) has arrived at the scene and made a report of the incident.
This Saturday also at night in Busasamana sector in Rusura cell, Gabiro village, FARDC soldiers also stole 5 cows from a resident called Ntamuhanga Venuste.
