A 47-year-old man named Gafurafura Claver was rescued alive 29 hours after being hit by a mine.
His friend who met with this tragedy called Niyonsaba Eric, 43 years old, was taken out dead.
On the 31st of Mutamara, 2024 in Kamonyi District, Rugarika Sector, Nyarubuye Cell, Ndagwa Village, two men were killed by a mine.
Gafrafura Claver managed to be rescued with a broken finger but is still breathing.
He said that the rock that fell on him was the one that cut his finger.
The authorities immediately sought medical attention.
The Executive Secretary of the Rugarika Sector, Nkurunziza Jean de Dieu thanked the people who volunteered to find out how to bring these people out of hell and now it is possible even though one of them was taken out dead.
