The automotive industry in China has been the largest in the world measured by automobile unit production since 2008. Since 2009, annual production of automobiles in China accounted for more than 32% of worldwide vehicle production, exceeding both that of the European Union and that of the United States and Japan combined.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation Ltd is planning to start building its factory in Rwanda where it will assemble cars that will be exported in Rwanda with the brand of “Made In Rwanda” and will be sold in Rwanda and aboard
What does this means for Rwandans?
Usually when these big factories or companies come to work in Rwanda, They give jobs to many people from Rwanda, I once visted an industrial site in Masoro. It’s a big place.
I arrived there around 5PM, At that time the workers of different industies was backing to thier homes while night shift workers was also entering. When you arrive, you meet with a lot of people. Yes, there are a lot of people, I heard that in one industy there is hundreds of people working in only one industry but not in all industries but also in many.
Thsi shows that these companies is very important to Rwanda and also to Rwandans, Another thing I can say is that it makes Rwanda to be great country in terms of business because Rwanda produce and export instead of paying money and wait import.
Rwanda Government has a plan to reduce imports because they are too expensive, that is what Rwanda is planning. Because to just keep waiting for some products to come from aboard it keeps Rwandan Economy to not grow.
