The President of the Republic, Paul Kagame, is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he attended the 37th meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the United African Union.

It is a conference scheduled to start on February 17-18, 2024.

This meeting is focused on various issues prevailing on the African continent, especially the issue of security.

The meeting was convened at a time when some countries on the African continent are struggling with security.

Countries such as Senegal and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are experiencing governance issues.

As in Senegal, the people are asking President Macky Sall to release the government, and new elections will be held.

It is at a time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that groups including M23 continue to put pressure on the government asking them to go to negotiations, to participate in the government of this country.
Among the other planned activities is that President Kagame will deliver to the participants, a report showing where the reforms established in the AU have been implemented. It is an eight-year reform that he has been asked to lead.

In July 2016, President Kagame was given the task of preparing and monitoring the necessary reforms in the Commission in order to be able to bring the AU to the vision of 2063.
