The President of Poland Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda came to Rwanda, on a working visit, which starts on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
When they arrived at Kigali International Airport, they were received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Vincent Biruta. It is planned that during his visit to Rwanda, President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser Duda will visit the Southern Province, especially Kibeho.
During the trip they will go to Kibeho, they will visit the school for the visually impaired that was built, they will visit the Church of the Virgin Mary, where they will take the time to pray in the two halls there, that of the vision and the Chapel.
In 2022 this country announced that it is going to open an embassy in Kigali, In the same year, Rwanda opened its Embassy in Poland and Prof. Shyaka Anastase was appointed as its Ambassador in that country. Since 2003, the high-ranking officials of the two countries have been visiting each other, holding discussions and signing cooperation and cooperation agreements at various levels.
In May 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda and the team he led paid a three-day visit to Poland, where both countries signed agreements on cooperation in various fields. Rwanda and Poland have an agreement on cooperation and collaboration between universities and colleges on both sides.
Currently in Poland, there are about 1500 Rwandan students, and the country’s administration is proud of the progress they are making in education and the good behavior they are showing, The two countries in June 2023 signed the following diplomatic cooperation agreement regarding military cooperation.
In July 2023, the two countries signed another agreement aimed at improving the tax system in Rwanda, reducing gaps in the methods used to collect taxes, fighting tax evaders and promoting technology in all tax-related activities.
In terms of investment, the Polish-Polish Luma Investment is one of the investors in Rwanda where it owns the Luna Smelter factory that melts and processes Gasegereti minerals. In December 2022, a trade and investment meeting between Rwanda and Poland {Polish-Rwanda Business Forum} was held in Kigali, attended by about 150 investment companies from both sides.
