Four Kenyan police officers have been arrested on suspicion of human trafficking after discovering a house where 37 Ethiopians were being killed 16 kilometers from the capital Nairobi.
The Ethiopians told the authorities that they had gone to South Africa to seek a better life, It is not known how they got to that house and all those involved because the owner of that house and others who were involved in these human trafficking activities are still being sought.
Kenya is already a gateway for many Ethiopians to South Africa illegally, according to the International Organization for Migration, IOM, The two officers sustained ankle injuries after jumping from the perimeter wall during the incident.
“Later on while at the scene two other officers from Starehe armed with a Ceska with 9 rounds and another one armed with a Ceska with 15 rounds arrived at the scene with two other aliens handcuffed on board motor vehicle,” The report.
A manhunt has been initiated to locate the host of the individuals and the owner of the house where they were found. “All vehicles involved have been impounded at the Mwihoko police station,” authorities added.
