Rwanda has come before Kenya and South Africa in having an institution that provides better financial services through the Kigali International Financial Center, KIFC.
It was announced in a report produced by the British and the Chinese that includes how the companies of the countries that provide financial services work around the world.
The first place in the world is the United States, New York, with 763 points while Kigali is 81st in the world with 651 points.
South Africa’s Johannesburg is in 83rd place with 642 points, and Nairobi is in 90th place with 629 points.
Rwanda is also ahead of Mauritius, Morocco, Thailand, France (Monaco), Teheran (Iran), Santiago (Chile), Warsaw (Poland), Athens (Greece) and elsewhere.
The Kigali International Financial Center was declared the seventh in the world to have made productive changes.
The Global Financial Centers Index report is produced by the UK-based Z/Yen Partners and the China Development Institute.
It has been producing these reports for 16 years and they are published twice a year to keep an eye on how financial institutions are doing around the world.
