It is a reminder of the International Day to Fight Neglected Diseases which was celebrated on January 30, 2024 for the 3rd year, in the Masaka sector in the Kicukiro region.

this ceremony was attended by various leaders in the health sector, the people of the Kikuro area and others, where they all agreed to completely eliminate pollution-related diseases at least in 2030, which will be completely eradicated and possible.

The mayor of Kicukiro Mutsinzi Antoine thanked those who participated in this ceremony and reminded the people that they should pay attention to the cleanliness of all places because that will prevent us from contracting all these diseases caused by pollution.

He said, “All the people here, I ask you to have enough cleanliness and take proper care of it, and take great care of it because some of us live in swamps, so let’s make cleanliness our culture, and it’s really possible, and we’ll get rid of diseases caused by pollution.”
Mugabo Jules is the director of the WHO in Rwanda and says that by 2030, diseases caused by pollution should be completely eradicated.

He said, “We must fight diseases caused by pollution at least by 2030 and they will have been completely eradicated, so that now in Rwanda, the Bilalaziyoze snake is dominant, which causes liver disease.”

The director of the department of malaria and parasitic diseases in RBC said that the number of patients with untreated diseases is decreasing from 60% to only 41% that the process is still long.

He said, “Although the progress that has been made is satisfactory, there is still a long way to go, where children under the age of five are very infected, only the health advisors help us by giving them snake pills, and indeed where these diseases are contagious, we are concerned about how to prevent them, so It is possible to suppress them and then the remaining 6 years will be completely eradicated.
