Based on the timetable and holiday period for students published by the Ministry of Education, the National Agency for Inspection and Education (NESA), informs school administrators, teachers and parents that Boarding students will start returning home during the break, from the 19th to the 22nd of December 2023.
The travel schedule for these students is as follows :
On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, students from schools in the following areas will return:
Nyarugenge, Gasabo and Kicukiro in Kigali City
Nyanza and Kamonyi in Southern Province
Example in Western Province
Musanze and Burera in Nouthern Province
Nyagatare na Gatsibo in Eastern Province
On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, Students will return to schools located in the following areas :
Ruhango and Gisagara in Southern Province
Nyabihu and Rubavu in Western Province
Rulindo and Gakenke in the Northern Province
Rwamagana and Kayonza in Eastern Province.
On Thursday, December 21, 2023, students will return to schools located in the following areas :
Huye and Nyaruguru in the Southern Province
Rusizi and Nyamasheke in the Western Province
Gicumbi in Northern Province
Ngoma and Kirehe in the Eastern Province
On Friday, December 22, 2023, students will return to schools located in the following areas :
Muhanga and Nyamagabe in the Southern Province
Karongi and Rutsiro in the Western Province
Bugesera in the Eastern Province.
The local authorities are required to encourage parents in their villages to welcome the students who came to school during the holidays, and to continue to be close by continuing the education that the schools had provided to them.
Schools are required to adhere to the scheduled travel time, sending children early to reach their homes without crying and in school uniform, Parents who have students traveling through the city of Kigali are requested to buy travel cards for their children that can be used in the buses.
In order to make it easier for students to travel, students departing from Kigali and others going through Kigali to other provinces, will take a car at Kigali Pelé Stadium in Nyamirambo to take them to their destination, After 15:00 the Stadium will be closed, no student will be allowed to come after the above mentioned hours.
