The Deputy Director of the Private Association in Rwanda, Kimenyi Aimable, explained the main reason why these investors traveled to Congo-Brazzaville, based on the government’s request that the private sector invest in agriculture and thus support the government in achieving food security. they even sell to other sources.
He said, “At the recent Umushyikirano meeting, the Minister responsible for agriculture showed us the problem the country has in being self-sufficient in food, and called on us to invest in agriculture in order to benefit and contribute to the development of Africa. This coincided with the fact that we received information that in Congo Brazzaville there is land that the government has lent to Rwanda and one of the most important Rwandan companies known as Macefield Ventures Ltd.
Mrs. Yvonne Mubiligi, the representative of this company in Congo, told the investors that the land for cultivation is available and sufficient, she explained to them the studies done on sacred crops and she advised them to cultivate crops for a short period of time so that they can also cultivate the crop because this crop has a market and is large. which will process the oil used in vehicles and pollutes the atmosphere.
During their trip to visit the land in the Louvakou and Kindamba areas, these investors also talked with the local authorities, telling them that it is an opportunity for Rwandans to come and cooperate with the Congolese in the development of agriculture, telling them that there is a lot to learn from it and that the administration is there to Facilitate the improvement of projects that will be carried out in these areas.
After visiting the industrial site managed by Macefield Ventures Ltd -Congo, located in an area called Maloukou, these investors were shown the work being done there so that this site can be worked on. and will deliver it to Macefield Ventures Ltd -Congo shortly.
At the end of the trip, these investors met with the Minister responsible for small and medium businesses in the Republic of Congo, Mrs. Jacqueline Lydia MIKOLO, who welcomed them saying: “Welcome to Congo, we were waiting for today, where we see young investors (youth) from Rwanda, to work with their fellow Congolese, because it is beneficial for both our countries, he said, “we are welcome”.
