The CEO of Adidas announced that they are going to release shoes with the names of Bob Marley, the most popular Jamaican singer who composed and sang Reggae music.
His real name is Robert Nesta Marley.
Dubbed the Bob Marley x adidas SL 72, these sneakers will release in Spring 2024 in collaboration with the Bob Marley Estate.
Adidas has not officially announced the shoes but last week one of Bob Marley’s granddaughter Zuri Marley posted some of the shoes on her Tik Tok website.
It contains Bob Marley’s photo and name and his signature, which will be in the different colors seen in the flag used by members of the Rasta community which are red, yellow and green.
In 2008, the company and Marley’s label, Tuff Gong, released a pair of sneakers in honor of the artist and his contribution to the promotion and development of Reggae.
Adidas has become one of the sponsors of the recently released Bob Marley film titled ‘Bob Marley: One Love’, as part of his legacy.
Adidas says that these Bob Marley SL72 shoes will be released in order to help his fans continue to enjoy his legacy.
Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in the Nine Miles area of St. Ann in Jamaica.
On May 11, 1981, the world heard of his death at the age of 36, in Miami, Florida, USA.
