Kagame welcomed the President of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

President Paul Kagame welcomed in Village Urugwiro the Minister and President of the Rhineland-Palatinate Province of Germany, Malu Dreyer and his team, who were in Rwanda where they participated in the 30th Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994.

The presidency announced that President Kagame welcomed Malu Dreyer on Thursday to discuss topics related to the new program to provide Rwandan youth with scientific knowledge and humanities.

Malu Dreyer was last in Rwanda in 2022 where he discussed with President Kagame on the issues of improving mutual relations between the two sides, In these discussions, it was concluded that cooperation is achieved in the field of governance, investment development and economic development through the transfer of experience.

Since 1982, the Province of Rhénanie Palatinate has helped Rwanda to improve its education level by providing various materials and health support with a focus on increasing knowledge in the field of medicine as thanks to the RBA.

The province of Rhénanie-Palatinate works with different educational institutions and in 2022 had relations with more than 180 throughout the country and more than 50 different organizations including those that help prevent domestic and gender-based violence.

When the 35th anniversary of the partnership between Rwanda and the Rhineland-Palatinate was celebrated in 2017, it was said that since the beginning of the partnership (twinning) with Rwanda, it had given more than 100 million euros through development projects.

Rwanda and Rhineland-Palatinate have had a special relationship for more than 40 years, through the sharing of experiences in various fields including Education and Health and the exchange of knowledge between the people on both sides.
