Shumbusho Jassin, a 19-year-old student in his first year of high school, who had already hanged from a dead tree, is believed to have committed suicide.
This young man lived with his grandmother in Village of Muhororo, Kagugu Cell in Kinyinya Sector, Gasabo District.

The news of his death came to light in the early hours of Friday, March 9, 2024, when his body was found in a tree and it was suspected that he had been murdered.

Ngirowansaga Djuma, who is the uncle of this young man, said that he had no problem with anyone, so he did not testify that he committed suicide.

He said, “I found out in the morning when they told me that Jassin was found dead. The collar around his neck is the pants he was wearing. So a person who hangs himself and hits the ground is not possible.”
He said a thorough investigation should be carried out to find out who was involved.

According to the information, he was first called on the phone, he went to see the caller and it is suspected that he is the one behind it.

The Executive Secretary of Kinyinya Sector, Ruzibiza Wilson, announced that an investigation has begun to determine the cause of death.

He said, “Confirming that he committed suicide or not has other agencies to follow and confirm it. Some say that there is already conflict in their family. So we leave it to the responsible authorities to monitor it and approve it.”
The body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem at Masaka Hospital to confirm the cause of death.
