What to know about the relationship between Rwanda and Qatar based on Co-operation and strengthening friendship.

The relationship between Rwanda and Qatar continues to grow every day, as well as the results that arise from the cooperation based on different levels and the friendship between the leaders of the two countries that do not stop flowing, are some of the evidence that it is a good example of cooperation should have characterized the countries at the international level.

Qatar is a country with a leadership that has made a political process to expand its doors, cooperation, and work with many countries in a brotherly and friendly manner and this is also the case on the side of Rwanda as a country that has been emerging from the dark for 30 years. The Genocide against the Tutsis left a broken place where it begged to start in vain in rebuilding its life.

The two countries also share the same vision of creating a relationship based on cooperation, including contributing to solving the problems of the world and the region in which they are located by strengthening peace and security, economic development, promoting investment and the well-being of the people.

All this is what makes day by day the two countries show their desire to cooperate in different areas and to strengthen the achievements and everything is done for the benefit of the people of both countries, In order to further strengthen the relationship between these friendly countries and their people, apart from the fact that there are cooperation agreements that have been signed at different times, this does not compare with the trips that the leaders of Rwanda and Qatar make to each other.

The leaders of the countries of Rwanda and Qatar also, in public, do not fail to acknowledge that their relationship has gone beyond friendship and reached the level of brotherhood, as President Paul Kagame showed during the awarding ceremony called anti-corruption excellence awards 2019. His Highness Qatari Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani launched the awards.

In particular, on Saturday, February 10, the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame paid a visit to Doha, Qatar, and after arriving in this country he was received by the Supreme Leader of Qatar (Emir), Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, in his office in Lusail Palace. After the meeting, they had discussions focused on cooperation between the two countries in the areas of infrastructure and hospitality. the war between the government of Israel and Hamas.

The State of Qatar is already a key partner of Rwanda, after the relationship between the two countries continued to increase in terms of foreign affairs in 2017. Since then, the leaders of the two countries have been meeting. in various high level meetings that contributed to strengthening and strengthening cooperation in many different and important sectors.

In this context, in April 2019, Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani visited Rwanda in a visit aimed at promoting the relationship between Rwanda and Qatar, which followed the two-day visit by President Kagame to Qatar, in November 2018,  In June 2022, Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, returned to Rwanda as a guest of a friendly country at the Commonwealth Heads of State and Government meeting held in Kigali.

It is while the President of Rwanda has visited the country of Qatar, in different times such as in February 2022, March 2023, October 2019, October 2021, December 2019, and even in November 2018.

Qatar and Rwanda have a strong and trusting relationship that reinforces the determination of both countries to improve the standard of living of the people and that they are determined to prioritize cooperation for the benefit of the people.

The President of the Republic, Paul Kagame, expressed that the relationship between Rwanda and Qatar is of great importance for Rwanda, due to the fact that the Gulf region where Qatar is located contains developed countries and therefore is a great and important opportunity. particularly in terms of investment and economic development.

When he gave a speech at the meeting of the Qatar Economic Forum 2023, President Kagame said that no country can achieve economic development while it is on the move, pointing out that a small country like Rwanda, today has understood why it is necessary to build partnerships with global market leaders.
