On the night of this Sunday, February 5, 2024, the “Grammy Awards” ceremony took place in a new look and was very interesting for African artists who were given a special category in this competition.

It’s usually a historic night for music lovers when these awards are presented, as the artist who won this award is considered by many to be one of the biggest names in music history. There are artists who win Grammys and raise the prices, a recent example is Tyla from South Africa who was considered an up and coming artist, she would start competing in these awards and raise them.

On the other hand, competing in the Grammys will increase the value of the artist, since from Kigali to Seoul, everyone dreams of winning this award at least once in their life.

The pop superstar won the GRAMMY for Album Of The Year for Midnights at the 2024 GRAMMYs, marking her fourth win in the Category  the most Album Of The Year wins of any artist at the GRAMMYs. (She had been tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon.

Miley Cyrus Wins The GRAMMY for Record Of The Year for “Flowers” , Miley Cyrus has won Record of the Year at the 2024 GRAMMYs for her hit “Flowers.” Accepting the award with her production team, Cyrus was irreverent and self-effacing, especially after having already won her first ever Golden Gramophone for Best Pop Solo Performance earlier in the evening.

“This award is amazing, but I really hope it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday,” Cyrus said. The pop singer beat out Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Jon Batiste, Dua Lipa, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish for the award, which was presented by Mark Ronson and his mother-in-law, the actress Meryl Streep. “Flowers” was a massive commercial hit, debuting at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending eight consecutive weeks in the top spot.

At Music’s Biggest Night, GRAMMY-winning Afrobeats artist Burna Boy brought a piece of his homeland to Crypto.com Arena. Decked out in bejeweled threads, the Nigerian superstar danced among throngs of performers and colorful buildings. The joyous performance featured several of his nominated works, including “On Form,” “City Boys” and “Sitting On Top Of The World”  the latter featured a special appearance by Brandy and 21 Savage.

Victoria Monét Wins The GRAMMY For Best New Artist.

Victoria Monét beats Gracie Abrams, Fred again, Ice Spice, Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, and The War And Treaty, Tearfully accepting the award, the rising R&B star gave an eloquent speech in which she compared herself to a plant growing out of the soil of the music industry.

“My roots have been growing underneath ground, unseen, for so long, and I feel like today I’m sprouting, finally above ground,” she said.
