Rwanda: Deaf and speech-impaired couple made a wonderful wedding

This marriage is the result of the love of Mushimiyimana Pacifique, 36 years old, and Immaculee Mutuyeyesu, 31 years old, who are both deaf and hard of hearing.

Their wedding, the language of Ikinyarwanda and sign language was used.

The speaker also said that people with hearing and speech disabilities should be respected, and all events should follow the schedule.

Mushimiyimana and Mutuyeyesu live in Busasamana sector in Nyanza district.

Sources say that they have been dating for more than two years, one of the wedding guests told UMUSEKE that what happened was unusual.

He said, “Indeed, these things are rare where people decide to marry both of them who do not understand and do not speak.”

The Immaculee bride usually does the hair dressing and the groom does the mare which usually includes clothes and other things.

The host said the wedding was appropriate because it was a lesson for others with hearing and speech impairments to feel empowered.

Miss Uwimana Jeannette, who recently won the crown of Miss Innovation in a beauty pageant, and who is also deaf and dumb, is one of the guests of the wedding.
