UR-Huye Campus is one the most Universities that is said to be having a big number Pregnant graduates and some among them already gave birth without finishing their courses and the number still increases accordingly.
Theresie NYIRAHABIMANA responsible for the Students Welfares in UR-Huye, Said that the Students they have that are pregnant and those who have already gave births are about 34 and it is said that many of the students over there lie to be pregnant.
NYIRAHABIMANA Announced this through the Interview on Radio Salus on 5 December 2023, As she was talking about Students lifestyle at school Especially their UR-Huye Campus.
NYIRAHABIMANA joined this Interview after there has been found a Dead body of the baby in the School’s Dust bins near the student’s Hostels in UR-Huye Compus on 1 December 2023 and that time the Suspect was arrested and started investigation on her.
She was answering the question about the percentages on the Students who are pregnant and those who gave birth the past few months in UR-Huye Campus as The New Times News publication was recently reporting that in 2012 there were some reports that showed that all over the 100 Female Graduates were pregnant in University of Rwanda {NUR} and all over the 36 got pregnant every year.
She said that “ In UR-Huye Campus there are all over 8 Thousands of the Students mixture of Boys and Girls, If there are 34 Students that are pregnant and those that already gave birth you understand that percentage even though they are there for Sexual intercourse.
News source from Kigali Today states that the graduates from UR-Huye Campus who gave birth few years ago nowdays bring their children at school and that one of them did try to bring her child in the Exam as she had no one to look after her child, That time the Lecturer had nothing to do only to help her look after the child.
NYIRAHABIMANA opposed this story and said it never happened because they prepared there a room for them to look after the Babies and uses it for advising those students who are pregnant and those who already gave birth
And she also said that that Student who have committed to the crime of Throwing the baby born as the Leaders didn’t know about it before and they didn’t know she was even pregnant, She added they thought that student came up with that idea of planning to kill her baby because she never asked for the help from the School administration as they usually do to her mates.
